Support offers for students performing in competitive sports
It is common for students not only to study, but also to have various jobs. However, if there is a second passion alongside a degree that requires just as much time as the degree itself, it often becomes difficult to manage it. Especially when the second passion is including professional training, such as competitive sports.
Since April 1, the University of Technology Vienna has been cooperating with the KADA, opens an external URL in a new window. Competitive athletes studying at the TU are supported by individual supervision in the compatibility of sport and training, as well as in the transition to a professional sports career.
The KADA study support program Studies Performance Sport (SLS) includes
- Study orientation and study choice
- Individual semester planning
- Vocational counseling by trained supervisors throughout the entire apprenticeship
- Networking sport and education
In addition, the SLS provides support on any organization, for example in creating more flexible study options.
Competitive athletes studying at the University of Technology Vienna are already using the named offers. In order to be accepted into the SLS study grant program, it is necessary to meet the KADA qualification criteria. Students who want to take advantage of the study support program created by KADA for the comping up winter semester 22/23 should contact Dominik Siedlaczek (firstname.lastname@example.org) by the end of the summer semester. He will then check and collect inquiries about qualification for the SLS.

Students receive academic supervision and are supported in organizing their studies, combing the sport and individual traing. The support is tailored to the individual situation of the athlete.
The program can only be offered to fulltime students. As a basic requirement, the qualification criteria writen by KADA must be reached.
