Project Staff Paul Koo
Interests: Regional planning, administrative structures, democratic processes, regional planning aspects of railway lines, spatial planning law
Paul Koo was born in Vienna and completed his bachelor's degree in spatial planning and regional development at the Vienna University of Technology in 2022. His bachelor's thesis dealt with the regional significance of branch lines. Since then, he has been pursuing a master's degree in the same field.
Paul Koo has been working in the field of regional planning and regional development since 2021, initially as a tutor in five compulsory courses, then as a student assistant to the dean of studies, and currently as a project assistant for the “STICS” (Smart Transformation & Innovation Consortium Slovakia) project, which deals with spatial development in Slovakia, among other things.
In addition, Paul Koo has been a member of the Senate of the Technical University Vienna since 2022, was chairman of the Student Union at the Vienna University of Technology (HTU Wien) from 2023 to 2025, and has been a representative of the Federal Representation of Austrian Students since 2025. In the TU Wien's “FutureFit” strategy process, he heads the “TU SustainAbility” project, which deals with the design of an interdisciplinary course on sustainability and transformation.
