Welcome to the Rax!

On Wednesday, 06 July 2022 we had to get up early, because our MOVE company outing was coming up! Early in the morning, we took the train to Payerbach-Reichenau. After a short bus ride and cable car ride, the hike started. At a leisurely pace, with sufficient snacks and in a good mood, we tackled the planned circular route.
The temperatures also played along: A pleasant 12 °C on the mountain, a bit windy and slightly cloudy depending on the location - a very welcome relief from the sultry weather in Vienna!
Of course, several breaks were a must - be it to enjoy the spectacular view or to have some snacks! At around 2pm we arrived at the Neue Seehütte and wished ourselves and the other hikers only one thing: enjoy your meal! Afterwards, our path led us back to the starting point, the Rax cable car station. After the descent, we looked for a nice spot along the Schwarza river - the water was icy, but that shouldn't stop us. Some even tried out the "liana" and rivalled Tarzan's skills. Just in time for departure, it actually started to rain. Perfect timing and a successful end to a wonderful day!
