Public Lecture with Xavier De Kestelier: Adventures of an Interplanetary Architect

Lecture

How do we design for worlds beyond our own? Join us for an inspiring journey with Xavier De Kestelier, a trailblazing architect and technologist who is redefining the frontiers of design — from cutting-edge computational methods on Earth to conceptual habitats on Mars.

As Global Head of Design and leader of his firm’s design technology and innovation team, Xavier De Kestelier shapes the future of architecture through digital tools, immersive technologies, and forward-thinking strategy. His work spans computational design, BIM, visualisation, and virtual reality, all aimed at transforming how we imagine and build our environments. Over the past decade, Xavier De Kestelier has become a driving force in parametric design and digital fabrication, earning international recognition for his visionary approach. His most ambitious endeavor — designing a 3D-printed Martian habitat for NASA’s 3D Printed Habitat Challenge — captures the essence of his quest to explore new worlds of possibility.

A seasoned TED speaker and director of Smartgeometry, Xavier De Kestelier continues to inspire global audiences at the intersection of technology, creativity, and the built environment.
