Week of Compatibility: TU Wien Supports You

The events will take place exclusively in German.

Throughout our lives, we are repeatedly faced with challenges – whether due to changes in family circumstances, caregiving responsibilities for parents or children, or other personal matters.

TU Wien ensures that its employees and students are not left to face these situations alone and offers a wide range of support services

That’s why the “Woche der Vereinbarkeit” is taking place once again this year, featuring lectures and workshops. Take this opportunity to get informed and connect with others!

Short description:
Dementia affects more and more people – often within our close circle of family and friends. It is also a topic of growing societal relevance. People with dementia often live in our immediate surroundings, and their participation depends on how inclusive and responsive that environment is to their needs and challenges.

The Dementia Experience Course is an interactive self-awareness tool that offers insight into the world of people living with dementia. Participants may experience emotions and limitations that reflect what many affected individuals go through in daily life. It provides new perspectives by allowing participants to feel first-hand how familiar tasks can suddenly become difficult or impossible.

Guided by a staff member from Caritas Wien, you will learn fundamental information about dementia and gain valuable insight into the daily challenges faced by those affected. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the support services offered by Caritas Wien for people with dementia and their families.

In this entertaining lecture specifically for parents, we start by letting pictures do all the talking – comics and caricatures that perfectly capture the sheer madness of parenthood.
We will smile, reflect, talk, and come to the conclusion that having children is usually wonderful, but also incredibly demanding work. Recognizing this as such is important – for parents and for society as a whole.

A cozy and original exchange format over brunch, offering a great opportunity to connect with other parents at TU Wien.
