TikTok ban on TUW devices

As of now, the app of the video service TikTok is on the list of banned apps on service mobile phones and laptops of the TU Wien.

With immediate effect, TU Wien is placing the app of the video service TikTok on the list of prohibited apps on official cell phones and laptops. This means that the app must not be installed or used on TUW devices such as smartphones and laptops/tablets. On devices where the online service has already been installed, it must be uninstalled as soon as possible.

With this order, TUW follows the EU Commission's ban on the use of TikTok on service devices of its employees and the Austrian federal government's announced ban recommendation for the administrative sector.
