TU Wien: New Rectorate Team Complete

After the election of the Vice Rector Human Resources by the University Council, the new five-member Rectorate of TU Wien is now complete.

At its meeting on June 21, 2023, the University Council unanimously elected Ute Koch as Vice Rector Human Resources. Consequently, the Rectorate of TU Wien for the term of office October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2027 consists of:

  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens SCHNEIDER, Rector
  • Mag.iur. Dr.iur. Jasmin GRÜNDLING-RIENER, Vice Rector Teaching
  • Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Peter ERTL, Vice Rector Research, Innovation, International Affairs
  • Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Wolfgang KASTNER, Vice Rector Digitalization and Infrastructure
  • Mag.iur. Ute KOCH, Vice Rector Human Resources

On May 31, 2023, three new vice rectors for research, teaching and digitization were elected by the University Council.

Ms Koch is a perfect addition to the Rectorate team, bringing with her a high level of expertise and a forward-looking personnel concept,” explains University Council Chair Peter Oswald. Norbert Pfeifer, Senate President, adds: “Ute Koch is held in very high esteem at TU Wien. In the hearing, she addressed pressing issues of personnel planning and development and presented concrete proposals for further development.

This final step in the whole election process for the new Rectorate of TU Wien has been encouraging the Rector-elect Jens Schneider, saying “After an intensive recruitment process with professional external agency support in the DACH region, Ms Koch made a strong impression on our team and the committees. Her excellent knowledge of labour legislation and the university system, strong empathy and assertiveness complement the team perfectly. Her ideas for the further development of the HR department, combined with agendas in diversity, health and resilience management, fit seamlessly into our strategic plans. This strengthens the position of TU Wien as an internationally attractive employer.
