Our partner Energiepark Bruck / Leitha is completing its portfolio with a new hydropower plant

Where the Mühlbach once drove the Seidl mill, a hydropower plant will be built again after 75 years.

With a “groundbreaking” jointly with Mayor Ing. Johann Laa, construction has now “officially” started.

Commissioning is planned for August 2021. The new hydropower plant will have an output of almost 80 kW and produce around 500,000 kWh / year of clean electricity.

With this amount of electricity, around 125 households can be supplied.

As is not unusual for smaller, revitalized locations, there is no turbine, but a so-called hydropower screw (from Vandezande). Hydropower screws are characterized by their very efficient operation at low heads and are also designed to enable fish to descend at the same time.

Our partner Energiepark Bruck / Leitha is now completing its portfolio with this hydropower segment!
