New publication "CSR and climate change" - Bruck / Leitha Energy Park and MSc Renewable Energy Systems as best practice examples

Dr. Franz Fischler and Mag. Andrea Sihn-Weber are the publishers of the book "CSR and climate change - business potentials and opportunities for a sustainable and climate-friendly economic development” published by Springer-Verlag.

"The aim of the book is to provide a detailed insight into how climate change can be counteracted in commercial practice and how it’s direct and indirect consequences can be successfully dealt with," explains Sihn-Weber.

The suspense of the book ranges from scientific knowledge and political plans to insights in the financial, rating and economic sectors to best practice examples from the real estate and energy sector and dealing with climate change. Among the 42 contributions from Austria, Germany and Switzerland, also included are the most important projects of the Energiepark Bruck / Leitha, the algae bioreactor ecoduna, the Bruck / Leitha biogas plant and the university course "MSc Renewable Energy Systems", opens an external URL in a new window. The master was launched in 2005 by Energiepark Bruck / Leitha, together with the cooperation partner, the TU Wien - Continuing Education Center. So far, around 280 students from around 50 nations have participated. Due to its internationality and the large network of students, graduates and lecturers, it represents an educational component for realizing the necessary steps toward the energy transition and combating climate change.

The book launch took place in the course of the Raiffeisen sustainability initiative in the presence of the two editors Dr. Franz Fischler and Mag. Andrea Sinh-Weber and was enriched by a panel discussion with Em. O. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Kromp-Kolb (University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences), DI Johann Marihart (General Director AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG), Mag. Andreas Rauter (UNIQA Insurance Group AG) and Dr. Gabriela-Maria Straka, EMBA (Brau Union Österreich).
