Product recalls have gained public attention particularly concerning the safety of products we use or consume every day. While scrutinizing product safety is not a new issue, the impact of global supply chains make it more complex as manufacturing is highly intertwined with several suppliers. Companies that source and/or market their products globally face risk management challenges.

This expert talk will provide an overview of fundamental product safety requirements in various industries (consumer goods, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food, automotive, and IoT devices) with supply chains that are becoming increasingly globalized. Risk mitigation approaches and the benefits of independent testing, inspection and certification will be highlighted, as well as ways to achieve compliance in international markets.

Michael Jungnitsch has 32 years experience in Testing, Inspection and Certification. He has held senior management roles at TÜV Rheinland, the VDE Testing and Certification Institute and Intertek. Michael has lived and worked in Sweden, Korea and Japan. Recently he is working with a US start-up supporting wireless device manufactures with a disruptive business model to get their regulatory approvals in over 190 countries.
