Thinking about the future of digital transformation together

Digital transformation is not about the latest programs or tools; it is about people. More specifically, it is about the employees and students at TU Wien who ought to benefit from the possibilities of digitalization. To make this possible in the long term, it is important to understand what is required and why.

Shaping the digital future of TU Wien together

The digitalization strategy may have been prepared by the rectorate but it will be up to all of us who are involved in the digital future of TU Wien to bring it to life. The role of the .digital office is to promote, support and help to shape this process. Relevant topics are identified together with focus groups and promoted in a number of different ways, one of which is the .dcalls, the digitalization projects at TU Wien. The final projects are now in the home straight and are generating new findings, pilot projects and additional ideas for future topics. Incidentally, it has also been possible to test collaboration across disciplines and organisations in many of these projects – another path to future success.

Starting a conversation

"Talking brings people closer together".... There is a lot of truth to that, which is why starting conversations has always been a key part of the digital transformation process. And we offer many different opportunities for dialogue: the digitalization consultation, opens an external URL in a new window is open to anyone who wants to talk about digitalization issues or has any questions about them. There is of course always some input from our side too because we are curious by nature. After the summer break, things get going again on 18 October.

As part of the .d Talks series, we talk with heads of organisational units about their plans with regards to development and digitalization and the respective OU for the coming months and years. This is an opportunity for us to provide support and advice, and even help with networking within TU Wien. And it goes without saying that it is also a chance for us to learn a lot about what is not only particularly important in the different OUs, but also particularly challenging. For us, listening is just as important a part of this process.

Those who prefer to discuss issues with us directly in small groups have a range of different channels to choose from. You can reach us on the good old-fashioned telephone or via e-mail – be it to a personal e-mail address or to the shared .digital office e-mail address – or you can contact us via TUchat or with comments and entries in TU coLAB. There is no shortage of ways to get in touch. We welcome all enquiries!

We of course also appreciate speaking to people one on one, including at events such as .digital update where you might have a specific question or maybe you just want to say hello. Just come and speak to us, even if you see us round and about on campus or online.
