In cooperation with the company NOVAPECC, opens an external URL in a new window, the research area for thermal engineering and thermodynamics has put a joint test stand for electrolysis research into operation. The test rig allows a detailed electrochemical and process engineering characterization of commercial electrolyzers. The research group of Prof. Markus Haider expects valuable research-relevant conclusions on the operational behavior and optimization potential of electrolysis systems. After starting with water electrolysis, so-called co-electrolysis for the simultaneous splitting of H₂O and CO₂ is also being researched.
