The framework conditions for the new evaluation concept were defined at TU Wien in 2022 and the pilot evaluations began in the same year. The main phases of the faculty evaluation and the evaluation of academic staff took place until autumn 2023.
We gained many valuable insights into the evaluation process from both pilot projects and identified potential for improvement. With the new Rectorate of TU Wien, we are continuing to work on optimising the evaluations so that they bring maximum added value to all those involved and minimise the effort involved. We are currently planning to involve the deans of the faculties in the discussion about the future direction of the evaluations and to jointly present an updated evaluation framework and plan for the medium term.
It is already known that the evaluation of academic staff is facing significant changes. The system described on this website and in the evaluation documents (regulations and guidelines) will be revised and updated to reflect the current needs and direction of the University. All documents will be updated once all necessary changes have been planned, tested and approved.
