Hearings for the Rector’s election of TU Wien

For the beginning of May 2022, the Selection Committee has invited particularly suitable candidates for the function of the Rector for an internal hearing at the university.

From the candidates who applied for the Rector’s position of TU Wien by March 31, 2022, the Selection Committee, led by the Chairs of the University Council and Senate, selected particularly suitable candidates. These candidates are now invited to a public hearing within the university. The hearings will take place on May 3 and 5, 2022, on site in the Kuppelsaal of TU Wien as well as via TUW-internal livestream.

The Selection Committee has fixed the dates of the public hearings of the candidates as follows:

  • May 3, 2022, 09:00 - 10:20 h: Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Marko D. MIHOVILOVIC
  • May 3, 2022, 10:30 - 11:50 h: Univ.Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens SCHNEIDER
  • May 3, 2022, 13:00 - 14:20 h: Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Gernot KUBIN
  • May 5, 2022, 10:00 - 11:20 h: Univ.Prof. Dr.nat.techn. Michaela ZINT, MBA

Organizational matters

Live audience

In compliance with COVID protection measures, a maximum of 150 seats are available for audience in the Kuppelsaal. There, seats are pre-reserved for members of the Selection Committee, the University Council, the Senate, the University Management and for the chairs of Students’ Union (HTU), the Works Councils and the Committee on Equal Treatment at TU Wien (AKG). Other TUW staff and students can register for a limited number of seats (per day) at www.tuwien.at/anhoerung, opens an external URL in a new window (TUW login required). These seats will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received. This schedule is subject to possible changes, which will be communicated to registered persons in due time.

Livestream

TUW members will be able to follow the hearings via live streaming on the website www.tuwien.at/anhoerung, opens an external URL in a new window (TUW login required). There will be a moderated chat function for TUW staff and students to ask questions. The organization team asks for your understanding in advance that due to the tight schedule not all questions from the chat can be considered or answered.

For TUW members, 100 seats are available in the Kuppelsaal, and these seats will be allocated according to the order in which registrations are received: TUW employees and students should send an e-mail to kuppelsaal@tuwien.ac.at by 02.05.22 at the latest, indicating the date of the hearing on which they would like to take up the seat.
