Cybersicherheit ist ein von Natur aus interdisziplinäres Gebiet, das alle Disziplinen der Informatik durchdringt und sich darüber hinaus über andere Bereiche erstreckt, etwa die Elektrotechnik (Netzwerke, Hardware, Roboter), die Physik (Quantencomputing und Kryptographie) und die Mathematik (Statistik und Datenwissenschaft). ) und Recht.

Die TU Wien verfügt in diesem Bereich über eine starke Expertise, wie die Anzahl prestigeträchtiger Förderungen (z. B. 6 ERC-Stipendien und 2 WWTF-Forschungsgruppen für Nachwuchsforscher) und Großprojekte (z. Ziel des TU Wien Cybersecurity Center ist es, die vorhandenen interfakultären Kompetenzen und Initiativen zu festigen und auszubauen und die TU Wien als international führendes Kompetenzzentrum für Forschung, Lehre und gesellschaftliche Öffentlichkeitsarbeit im Bereich Cybersicherheit zu etablieren. Dazu findet am 18. April 2024 das Kick-Off Event des Centers statt. Teilnahme nur mit Einladung möglich.

Cybersecurity is an inherently interdisciplinary field, which cross-cuts all disciplines in computer science and additionally spans over other fields, such as electrical engineering (networks, hardware, robots), physics (quantum computing and cryptography), and mathematics (statistics and data science), and law.

TU Wien has a strong expertise in this domain, as witnessed by the number of prestigious grants (e.g, 6 ERC grants and 2 WWTF research groups for young investigators), large scale projects (e.g., 3 Christian Doppler labs and 1 FWF Special Research Program), as well as dedicated bachelor, master, and doctoral programs.

The goal of the TU Wien Cybersecurity Center is to consolidate and expand the interfaculty expertise and initiatives in place, establishing TU Wien as an internationally leading center of excellence for research, teaching, and societal outreach in cybersecurity. The center's kick-off event will take place on April 18, 2024. Attendance by invitation only.
