To make the ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the implementation of carbon capture and storage/utilization (CCS/CCU) technologies is crucial, particularly in heavy industry sectors and transportation, such as cement production and aviation fuels. Large-scale carbon capture holds the key to significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. However, to effectively address the challenge of climate change, it is essential to expand carbon capture efforts to encompass comprehensive CCS/CCU systems, enabling permanent storage of emissions or closure of the carbon circular loop.
