Operational restrictions: Opening hours

TU Wien Bibliothek is closed from Saturday, 17 December 2022 until Sunday, 08 January 2023 due to the TU-wide operational restrictions.

TU Wien Bibliothek closing days

TU Wien Bibliothek's locations, the Main Library and the Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering Library, are both closed from Saturday, 17 December 2022 until Sunday, 08 January 2023.

Please note that enquiries concerning our services will also be affected. Most of our staff will be on vacation until 08 January 2023, so there may be delays in answering any enquiries sent via e-mail or our website during this time.

Automatic extension of loan periods

Any loans with loan periods expiring during the operational restrictions will be renewed automatically, and the due date will be extended to Monday, 09 January 2023. Borrowing items or returning borrowed items, or paying fines, is not possible during the operational restriction period.

Online access to electronic media

TU Wien Bibliothek offers access to around 9000 e-journals and 140,000 e-books on a large number of publisher's platforms via CatalogPlus, opens an external URL in a new window. TU Wien students and staff have access to these resources from their homes using VPN, opens in new window. To access electronic full texts, select the option "2_All tunnelled" during VPN login. In case of problems with the access to electronic resources, contact our e-media team.

Users without a TU Wien affiliation can only access electronic media at the library terminals, and will therefore not be able to access electronic media during the operational restrictions.
