The restriction of operations is an effective savings contribution to the agreed financing path for 2023, which was agreed with the BMBWF. Many thanks to all who support this savings measure!
Many colleagues have followed the call of the rectorate and have planned their holidays and time off accordingly, thus supporting the TUW in saving resources. Many thanks for this. As of 14 December 2022, a total of 10,481 days of leave were requested by 1,694 employees during the period of operational restrictions. Thanks also go to those employees who ensure proper university operations under the restricted conditions.
Staff members who do not plan to take any days off during the operational restrictions or who do not want to or cannot work from their home office are offered a special online training programme.
Study and teaching
1,200 courses and examinations have been converted to online formats over the four days (19 - 22.12.2022) before the Christmas holidays. For approved face-to-face lectures during this period, the Vice Rector Academic Affairs will provide rooms at the Getreidemarkt campus and for project work in the Faculty of Architecture and Planning defined project rooms at the Karlsplatz campus and the TVFA hall.
Research work in the faculties continues in a reduced form in accordance with the defined energy saving plans.
Sustainability @ TUW
In addition to the financial issue, the responsible use of resources is both an attitude issue and a component of the sustainable development of the TU Wien. All TU members together, that is after all about 32,000 people, can achieve a great effect in the medium and long term through the sum of many, individual steps and changes in behaviour. For information, tips and inspiration, take another look at our sustainability website, opens in new window.
The TU Wien wishes you a relaxing holiday season and happy holidays!
