"Austrian Transition to Open Access (AT2OA)" project completed successfully

The “Austrian Transition to Open Access” (AT2OA) project, funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, has significantly advanced the transformation to an open science culture.

Austrian Transition to Open Access

The project was divided into four subprojects, which examined the following topics:

  1. Analysing the impact of the transition to Open Access
  2. Designing licence agreements with publishers
  3. Establishing publication funds at Austrian universities
  4. Establishing university publishers and promoting alternative Open Access publication models.

TU Wien Bibliothek has been active in all four areas, participating in the AT2OA-Transition-Study, concluding a large number of publisher agreements with open access components, and establishing TU Wien Academic Press as an open access book publisher at TU Wien, besides managing a publication fund and reposiTUm as an open access repository. TU Wien Bibliothek is also continuing to support the hosting of TU Wien Open Access journals (e.g. Journal for Facility Management, opens an external URL in a new window, Der öffentliche Sektor, opens an external URL in a new window) by providing a software platform, which was migrated successfully to Janeway in 2020.
