Text and image generators like ChatGPT and Dall.E, which use AI algorithms, have been available for 2 years now. Although no one knows where this journey will lead (also because these technologies have steep learning curves) - one thing is clear: We will definitely have to deal with it in teaching and research, or should simply do so voluntarily!

In the final round, positions were collected from participants on the future positive use or wishes for dealing with AI. Here is an excerpt from the positions:

• Networking universities transdisciplinarily on AI experiences

• AI simulations allow possible undesirable developments (of a spatial nature, note) to be identified more quickly than before

• AI should be able to classify superfluous work as unnecessary

• Vienna needs a future museum under the leadership of spatial planning

• Spatial planning must teach the AI humor

• What jobs should AI usefully take on in the future?

• We spatial planning generalists* can (change) more than the AI, so we will not be replaced.

• Automated plans will not replace land use planning.

• Greatly improved geospatial data management (focus on inventory analysis) through AI.

• AI can improve and accelerate qualitative empiricism (note: an FFG project application would be good and promising for this!).

• Without social innovation, there can be no sustainably effective technological innovation.

• AI can help create new context and data layer overlays.
