Jonathan Fetka on "Guten Morgen Österreich"

One of the topics our colleague Jonathan investigates is (urban) logistics. To date, delivery robots have only been used to a limited extent worldwide. In this TV segment, Jonathan explains what needs to be considered when using them.

Just recently, Jonathan Fetka gave an interview to ORF Topos on the use of delivery robots, opens an external URL in a new window. Now he has been invited to "Guten Morgen Österreich"!

Delivery services and, above all, suppliers have a lot to do in Austria: in 2023, around 200 million parcels were delivered in Austria. This is already a considerable amount and the volume of orders is expected to increase rather than decrease. This results in logistical challenges and efforts to improve or simplify delivery processes. New delivery technologies such as delivery robots or delivery drones are being trialled.

TV report

So on Monday 26 February 2024, Jonathan had to get up early. After a brief introduction to the topic, moderator Eva Pölzl asked Jonathan live questions about the use of delivery robots and what aspects speak for and against their use.

Ultimately, it's a question of principle - do we want to shift the transport of goods from the road to the pavement and impose an additional obstacle on pedestrians or young cyclists?
