Professional MBA Automotive Industry visits Matador Plant in Nitra

Site Visit Matador in Nitra

On August 30, 2018 students of the 9th Professional MBA Automotive Industry Program visited Matador Plant in Nitra.

Matador was established in 1905 to produce the rubber product. From 1950 Matador has produced the tires and became the regional leading tire producer. In 2007 the rubber division business was divested to the joint-venture partner of Continental AG. In 2005 MATADOR Automotive Vráble was established with the focus on automotive production. The goal was to a TIER 1 supplier in the automotive industry.
Ing. Ladislav Haberman, managing director of MATADOR Automotive in Nitra explained the history and future trends of the company. An overview about the production was given by Ing. Jan Csaszar, plant manager. Ing. Martin Skladan, the chief of maintenance, clarified technical details on presses, aluminum and steel scrap sorting. Furthermore, Ing. Miroslav Mesáros, technical director informed also about activities of the Production Competency Center (PCC BIW Europe) which Matador created with SODECIA Vráble.

Together with all managers participants went through the plant. On the shop floor managers explained the activities and answer questions. The excursion is finished with the workshop and discussion with the representatives of the company. Students wanted to get more details about the production processes but also talked about possible cooperation. Within the framework of the upcoming human resources management lectures, employee-related topics were also discussed.
