Dongheui Lee ist ordentliche Professorin für Autonomous Systems am Institut für Computertechnik der Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik der TU Wien. Seit 2017 leitet sie auch eine Gruppe für menschzentrierte assistive Robotik am Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR). Zuvor war sie Associate Professor für Human-centered Assistive Robotics an der Fakultät für Elektrotechnik und Technische Informatik der TUM (2017-2022), Assistenzprofessorin für Dynamic Human Robot Interaction an der TUM (2009-2017), Projektassistenzprofessorin an der Universität Tokio (2007-2009) und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) (2001-2004). Sie promovierte 2007 an der Abteilung für Mechano-Informatik der Universität Tokio, Japan. Sie wurde mit einem Carl-von-Linde-Stipendium am TUM Institute for Advanced Study (2011) und einem Helmholtz-Professurenpreis (2015) ausgezeichnet. Sie war Senior Editor und Gründungsmitglied der IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L) und Associate Editor für die IEEE Transactions on Robotics. Ihre Forschungsinteressen umfassen menschliches Bewegungsverständnis, Mensch-Roboter-Interaktion, maschinelles Lernen in der Robotik und assistive Robotik.
