You are a Predoc at TUW?

As a doctoral candidate with an employment contract at TU Wien, you are undergoing intensive professional training, but you are also in a temporary employment relationship. The Human Resources Development department at TU Wien therefore supports you with opportunities for transferrable skills development. With programs, seminars, summer schools, and individual coaching, we prepare you as best as possible for your next career steps—within or outside TU Wien, in academia, or beyond.

What is WINA+?

In our one-year group coaching program, you will be part of an interdisciplinary group with other TUW predocs and receive support from our experienced coach Dr. Martina Friedl in developing your personal and interdisciplinary skills. Technical input, self-reflection, and peer group coaching will support you in setting and achieving your goals, provide you with clarity about your own values, and teach you skills that go beyond your technical training in your working group. Here you can acquire skills that will help you achieve your next career steps.

Support for an ideal starting point

WINA+ is TU Wien's one-year development program for young researchers in temporary substitute positions. The university invites all predoctoral research assistants (Predocs) at TU Wien to join the program.

Each year 2 program cycles start: a German class in winter term, an English class in summer term.

Customized Skill Development

WINA+ offers support in customised skill development during fixed-termed employment. The target agreement with your supervisor serves as a basis of this.

WINA+ structure: Coaching sessions

Networking

In addition to your personal development in your individual research area, the university-wide networking and interdisciplinary exchange is core to the program.
Four times within the two-year period, you meet with your colleagues for a group coaching session to share successful steps taken, challenges and achievements.

Here you can find the current dates of the ongoing WINA+ programmes in TISS (after login):

Participants are expected to attend at least 75% of all appointments. Switching single appointments of a cycle is possible upon request by email to the administrative person of the Human Resources Development (currently: Stefanie Madsen).

The WINA+ program also includes additional benefits such as access to seminars and workshops, summer schools and new exclusive informations.

As a participant, you gain access to different forms of support and to all the seminars of the HR development program, so that you are left in the best possible situation at the end of your fixed-term employment at TU Wien. On request, we also organise seminars on special topics for your group.

During the semester, there is often hardly enough time to deal with your own further education. The HR Development organises and manages the TU Austria Summerschool Doc+ and international Summerschool cooperations.
Together with an international group of PhD students you can take part in various seminars and trainings - a perfect opportunity for social interaction and networking.

You can find out about the application and registration deadlines through the WINA+ newsletter in advance of the Summer Schools. Registration for the newsletter: WINA+, opens an external URL in a new window
