EUROMAT, opens an external URL in a new window is the premier international congress in the field of materials science and technology in Europe. In 2021 the conference took place in a virtual format due to the restrictions and health risks linked to the COVID19 pandemic and was held from 13th till 17th of September in this year’s host-city, Graz. The range of research areas covered at EUROMAT reaches from synthesis and characterization of functional materials, towards bio-materials, energy harvesting and material processing techniques. This year 8 members of our working group were presenting their current research either in a poster or as an oral talk.

Noteworthy, Jakob Rath gave an oral presentation on Atomic-Layer-Deposition of Metal-Organic-Framework Thin-Films; Pablo Ayala presented the powerful isolation strategy, opens an external URL in a new window to promote the formation of single-site-like co-catalysts and our group’s novel geometrical models to deepen the understanding on the size/performance trends of such species. His goal is to replace noble metals with earth-abundant materials for photocatalytic water splitting.
