Mr. Ao. Prof. Dr. Edtmaier has been working at the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics at the Vienna University of Technology since completing his degree in process engineering (now process engineering) and his doctorate in technical sciences. In 2005 he was appointed Ass. Prof., in 2017 he habilitated in the subject “Materials Science of Inorganic Substances”. Since 1995 he has headed various research groups, currently the research group “Inorganic Materials” since 2018.
In research, our interests lie in the field of metallic composite materials (so-called MMCs). These include materials for the aerospace industry, such as particle and fiber-reinforced materials to improve mechanical, thermal or magnetic properties. Other interests include additive manufacturing, superalloys, high-entropy alloys, brazing alloys, metallurgy and recycling.
