What we celebrate

The TU Mitmachlabor has been offering hands-on workshops for pupils in grades 4 to 12 for 20 years and has already enabled over 16,000 children and young people to experience chemistry. It was founded jointly by TU Wien and the Austrian Association of Chemistry Teachers to offer children and young people the opportunity to work independently and experimentally at an early age in cooperation with schools.

In the TU's Mitmachlabor, children and young people can discover their chemical environment and find out in how many areas of everyday life science plays a role.

Chemistry is not difficult, formal or abstract, but can be experienced in the things that surround us: Detergents, dyes, medicines, fragrances, plastics, fertilizers, cosmetics and much more that enriches our lives.
