Research interests

The activities of the workgroup center around the development and the analysis of numerical methods for PDEs and integral equations. For PDEs, a focus are high order finite element methods (hp-FEM). For integral equations, matrix compression techniques (rank-structured matrices, H-matrices, fast multipole methods) are studied. Fields of application for these methods are elliptic PDEs, acoustic and electromagnetic wave propagation, singular perturbation problems, and fractional differential equations.
