Summary

The preservation of all necessary information about a building for comprehensive analysis across various stages of the construction process currently poses significant challenges for BIM models. In the FFG-funded research project "Building Simulation," it aims to demonstrate, through a continuous data model based on SIMULTAN MDM (Meta-Data Model), that the planning and utilization phases can be interconnected, utilizing existing information from the planning phase to perform target-actual comparisons in the utilization phase through real-time simulations.

The research unit of Building Physics in this project is primarily responsible for the necessary advancements of SIMULTAN MDM to expand the meta-data model and demonstrate that SIMULTAN MDM can retain, manage, and provide all necessary information for the digital representation of processes for further use.
