Institute of Material Technology, Building Physics, and Building Ecology

Welcome to the Institute of Material Technology, Building Physics, and Building Ecology at the Faculty of Civil end Environmental Engineering of TU Wien!

The Institute of Materials Technology, Building Physics and Building Ecology was created at TU Wien on 1 January 2019. The research focus of the three research areas ranges from mineral to bio-based materials on the one hand and from experimental to numerical analysis to forecasting methods on the other. The aim is to improve the performance of the built environment.

In this way, challenges such as the many partially contradictory requirements for materials, components and buildings can be taken into account and addressed both in basic research and in application-related developments.
