High_Light_2011: a temporary viewing structure in concrete on the campus of Graz University of Technology

Task: preliminary design of a multifunctional, accessible, temporary concrete structure with a viewing platform in the context of current visions

Topic:

A walk-on viewing structure is to be designed for the new campus of Graz University of Technology as a lighthouse for its 200th anniversary and as a temporary centre. The concrete structure with viewing platform is also intended to communicate the location of the Graz University of Technology campus, its urban development, the spread of infrastructure and the spatial development for innovation and visions.

The aim is to independently develop an architectural design with a focus on the constructive elaboration. When designing the supporting structure, the material CONCRETE and the principle OF LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION should play an important role.
