On February 1st, 2024, three theses written at the Department of Foundation Engineering, Soil and Rock Mechanics at the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering were awarded the Austrian Ground Engineering Prize at an award ceremony.

The dissertation by Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Mario Hager, "FDVK with vibratory rollers - Development of a new measurement parameter for roller-integrated area-wide dynamic compaction control, opens an external URL in a new window", was honoured with the 1st prize of the Austrian Ground Engineering Prize.

The diploma theses by Dipl.-Ing. Ann-Christine Dziwok, "Tests on the load-deformation behavior of shaft grouted ductile piles in typical Viennese ground, opens an external URL in a new window" and by Dipl.-Ing. Aleksandar Kostadinovic, "Numerical modelling of a deep excavation in the overconsolidated soil of Vienna, opens an external URL in a new window" were awarded 2nd prize in the Austrian Ground Engineering Prize.

The three works beat a large number of other submissions, which confirms the high quality of these works.
