Field trip destination Vals
The rock fall in Vals occurred on 24th of December 2017 and was unforeseeable, despite several detailed geological surveys having been conducted in the respective slope section. In the main fall path, apart from the provincial road, there were only agricultural areas. Buildings were not directly affected by the event, although they were only a few meters away from the edges of the debris.
