Associate Prof. Dr.in. techn. Manuela Waldner grew up in Berndorf (Lower Austria). After graduating from high school, she studied “Media Technology and Design” and “Digital Media” at the FH Upper Austria Campus Hagenberg (MSc degree). She then moved to Graz University of Technology, where she completed her doctorate with distinction in 2011 with a dissertation on „WIMP Interfaces for Emerging Display Environments, opens an external URL in a new window“. After a short stop as Senior HCI Researcher at the Center for Usability Research and Engineering (CURE), she moved to a PostDoc position at TU Wien in 2013. In 2020, she was able to secure a career position at TU Wien, which she has now successfully completed by qualifying as an Associate Professor.

Manuela Waldner's scientific home is the Computer Graphics research area, opens an external URL in a new window (E193-02) at the aforementioned institute. There she researches visual interfaces for the interactive exploration and analysis of complex data.
