Associate Professor Aaron Maxwell Andrews, PhD, has been assigned to the Institute of Solid State Electronics, opens an external URL in a new window (E362) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, opens an external URL in a new window at TU Wien as Associate Professor for Semiconductor Technology since February 1, 2020.

Aaron Maxwell Andrews studied materials science at the University of California, Los Angeles, and then earned his PhD in 2003 at the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a thesis on “Crosshatch surface morphology and lateral oxidation in lattice-mismatched thin films, opens an external URL in a new window”. He has been employed at TU Wien since 2004, first at the Institute of Photonics and, since 2009, at the Institute of Solid State Electronics. In 2015, Aaron Maxwell Andrews was awarded a career position with the topic “Epitaxy of Advanced Optoelectronic Nanostructures,” which he successfully completed in 2020 with the qualification of Associate Professor. In 2019, he also obtained his venia docendi for the subject of Semiconductor Technology with a habilitation thesis on the topic of “Growth of intersubband optoelectronic devices, opens an external URL in a new window”. 

In the research area of Optoelectronic Materials (E362-01), he is involved in the development, analysis, and characterization of nanomaterials and nanostructures.
