Autumn holidays 2026

Childcare will be provided on the following days during the autumn holidays in 2026:

   Tuesday, 27 October 2026
   Wednesday, 28 October 2026
   Thursday, 29 October 2026
   Friday, 30 October 2026

Target group

Schoolchildren aged 6–12 (children must already be in Year 1 of primary school) of

   Staff members
   Students

Care times

08:00–09:00 Drop-off
09:00–16:00 Programme
16:00–17:00 Pick-up of children

The children will be served a hot lunch in the TU canteen.
The childcare is provided by KIWI.
 

Costs

TU staff: €15 per day per child
TU students (not in employment): €10 per day per child

Registration

Registration on a day-by-day basis is possible during the autumn holidays.

Registration opens: 2 June 2026
Registration closes: 15 September 2026
The childcare service will only run if there are enough registrations 
 

Payment and Cancellation Policy 

Once you have submitted the registration form, you will shortly receive an email at the address you provided confirming whether your child has been allocated a place for the week(s) you specified.

Cancellation is free of charge but must be made by email to tukids@tuwien.ac.at by 15 September 2026.
(Cancellation is only valid if sent to the email address mentioned above.)

From 16 September 2026, you will receive an email invoice for the full amount of the fee. 
(Please check your spam folder regularly, as the invoice email from the Bursar’s Office sometimes ends up there.)

Once you have received this invoice, free cancellation is no longer possible; the invoice must be paid.

If you cancel your child’s place up to 4 weeks before the childcare week, you will receive a refund of 50% of the total amount in accordance with our cancellation policy.
No refund is possible for cancellations made after this date.

Insurance

As participants in the workshops or childcare programmes organised by TU Wien, the children are insured against all types of accidents under the terms of the agreed collective accident insurance policy.

Please note that if your child misbehaves during the course, they may be excluded from the childcare week with immediate effect. In the event of exclusion, any course fees paid will not be refunded on a pro rata basis.
