Learning Agreement for Traineeship

Erasmus traineeships are based on the "Learning Agreement for Traineeship" (provided by the home university). This is concluded between the student, the sending institution and TU Wien. On the part of TU Wien, the LA for traineeship is signed by the supervisor.

Information for TUW institutes (supervisor):

With reference to the tasks, please define what competencies and learning outcomes the trainee should have gained by the end of the traineeship. Regardless of whether “problem solving, team player ability, managing budgets”, ... is stated in the form, it’s between you and the student on which expected outcomes you agree.

Monitoring: whether there are daily or weekly meetings, team meetings, fixed hours with your supervisor, ...

Evaluation: which criteria will be used to evaluate work? Team player ability, punctual completion of the assigned work, your self-reliance, comprehension, demeanour within the team, your prior knowledge, ... Criteria can be manifold and evaluated differently.

Insurance

The trainee has to take care of health insurance valid in Austria. TU Wien does not provide health insurance! Third-country nationals must provide proof of this for their residence title anyway / EU citizens can use their European Health Insurance Card.

Please note: TU Wien can only provide accident and liability insurance if trainees are enrolled at TU Wien (see “Registration and Admission to TU Wien”). With enrolment a trainee has to pay the students union fee and is therefore covered by the union’s accident and liability insurance. This insurance also covers accidents during journeys made for work purposes and accidents on commute to and from work.

If enrolment is not possible and e.g., equipment of TU Wien is damaged by trainees, this will be covered by the university's insurance. However, in this case it is advised that trainees take out accident insurance themselves.

Registration and Admission to TU Wien (if possible)

It is possible to get enrolled at TU Wien, as long as the traineeship takes place within one month of the semester and if you arrive before 31 October for winter semester / 31 March for summer semester.
