How do I continue studying at TU Wien?

Payment of Students' Union/tuition fee

Students have to report the continuation of the degree or non-degree programme by paying the students' union fee and, if necessary, the tuition fee. As a student of TU Wien you report the continuation by paying the fee prescribed in your TISS account within the continuation period (winter semester until 31 October, summer semester until 31 March). You can find the prescribed fee in the TISS "Student Self Service" (section "Education").

As soon as the payment of the ÖH/tuition fee has been received, your status will change from “admitted” to “reported continued”. From that moment on you can print study confirmations and subscribe for lectures.

NOTE

If the prescribed fee has not been paid in full and within the deadline, the admission expires and attending courses, passing examinations or handing in scientific papers is no longer possible or permissible!

Admission at multiple universities

Regardless of how many universities in Austria you are admitted to, you have to pay the students' union/tuition fee only once every semester. If you are admitted to degree programmes at more than one university, you have to inform each university of the continuation of your studies. This is done automatically only at the university where you pay the fee.

If you have paid the prescribed fee at another university and would also like to continue your studies at TU Wien, you can register your continuation by yourself during the admission period by clicking at the button in the TISS "Student Self Service" (section "Education") or you inform us of your payment at the other university by providing your student ID number via the Jira, opens an external URL in a new window

If the button is not visible please contact the TISS Helpdesk, opens an external URL in a new window.
