The Research Unit Probability (105-07 PROBA) is part of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics.

The Probability Research Unit focuses on probability theory and mathematical statistics.

One of our main areas of research is at the crossroads between probability theory and mathematical physics, in particular statistical mechanics.

In this area, our research activities range from out-of-equilibrium statistical physics to the theory of phase transitions, conformal invariance of critical models, discrete random geometry, “integrable probability” and combinatorics.

The PROBA teaching and research activities have also a substantial component in mathematical statistics and queuing theory.
