On May 12^th around 40 mathematicians attended the ‘Paths in Maths’ event, ranging from Bachelor’s and Master student’s to doctoral students.

The event began with a  talk of Stefanie Madsen. She presented the various support opportunities available to doctoral students during their PhD studies at TU Wien. This was followed by spotlight talks from four successful mathematicians, who shared their career paths and insights into their current jobs. Two speakers talked about their careers in academia, while the other two presented their experiences in industry. The diversity of professions and career paths illustrated the wide range of possible future opportunities for the participants.

After the presentations, participants had the opportunity to network with the speakers, ask further questions, and connect with the other participants.
