Welcome to the Institute of Geotechnics at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of TU Wien!

The Institute of Geotechnics is responsible for the design of the "connection from the structure to the subsoil" and all that is required for this - the exploration of the subsoil, the characterisation of the soil, the planning and dimensioning of foundations as well as the supervision of the geotechnical construction measures in execution.

The aim of the training is to raise awareness of all relevant geological, soil and rock mechanical processes as well as the holistic and interdisciplinary consideration of the interaction between the structure and the subsoil.
