- We are the list: fairsichergemeinsam–FSG TU Wien
social democratic trade unionists and non-partisan colleagues, and we are committed to your concerns and wishes! - We are actively contributing to ensuring that TU Wien continues to develop as an employee-friendly workplace.
- We emphasize the importance of a social working atmosphere and mutual appreciation at TU Wien for each and every one of us.
- We advocate for fair classification according to your area of responsibility and compensation for overtime (either financial or time off, according to your preference). We also advocate for equal treatment of VB`S and employees covered by collective agreements.
- We raise awareness and thereby counteract tendencies toward discrimination (through discussions with those affected and their environment, and raising awareness within our own sphere of influence).
- We strive for genuine cooperation on an equal footing at TU Wien!
- We are not satisfied with statements such as: “It's already been decided and there's nothing we can do about it.”
Or: “Our management looks after us like parents look after their children” (parents can also be wrong sometimes).
By the way:
All colleagues on our list belong to the general staff of TU Wien and therefore reliably represent your concerns.
We also believe that managers represent the leadership of TU Wien. For this reason, they are unsuitable as works council members! Otherwise, we would not need a works council. We are happy to support and advise you on all questions relating to work and cooperation at TU Wien (e.g., questions about balancing work with difficult personal circumstances).
In order to achieve important goals for you in the works council, we need every single vote to work on an equal footing with the other factions represented in the works council. We are also running to achieve a balanced balance of power so that we can work together constructively.
Take advantage of this opportunity to actively participate in the decision-making process!

What has been achieved so far:
- Increase in compensation for overtime for additional tasks as SVB from €30 to €40.
- Better work-life balance.
- Voluntary social benefits from the university management: financial allowance (vouchers).
What we want to improve for you:
- Alignment of the 40-year service anniversary of KV employees with the VBG/BDG in the works agreement. (4 months' salary)
- Promotion of the Wiener Linien annual ticket
- Advice and assistance in the event of payment
- Compliance with hiring promises
- Equal opportunities for all colleagues, whether collective agreement employees, contract employees, or civil servants.
- Negotiations for the benefit of all employees to achieve improvements for you (e.g., special leave for your child's first day of school).
- Regular functioning of elevator systems for colleagues who would otherwise be unable to reach their workplace.
With the introduction of the collective agreement and increasing pressure to save money, working conditions for general staff have deteriorated significantly.
Instead of fair salary structures and fair pay, the last few years have brought us additional burdens and a harsher working environment. We are committed to continuing to counteract this development with expertise, commitment, and solidarity in all types of employment relationships in the interests of all colleagues.

What is our works council?
The Works Council represents the interests of general staff employees at TU Wien. Elections are held every five years.
The works council consists of 14 colleagues who organize themselves into different factions and hold regular meetings to discuss issues and make decisions. These decisions are then communicated to the rectorate by the chairperson. The final decision on implementation rests with the rectorate.
However, one of the main tasks is also to advise colleagues and represent their interests.
What is it for?
The works council for general staff represents the interests of TU Wien employees, and the works councils are the first point of contact for any problems or questions you may have in the workplace. Works council members act in accordance with the Labor Constitution Act, which gives them the right to represent employees. Works council members are bound to absolute confidentiality, and all matters are treated confidentially.
The same thing every 5 years?
No, because there is the highly motivated team fairsichergemeinsam-FSG, which scrutinizes the processes at TU Wien and intervenes if there is any deterioration. We want communication between all levels to work.
What are the benefits of a works council?
In the event of unjustified dismissal, if your salary is too low, if working conditions are unlawful, and for many other issues that arise in your employment relationship.
In terms of its right to intervene, the works council is entitled to report grievances in the company to the relevant authorities (labor inspectorate, chamber of labor, trade union, etc.) and to demand measures to remedy the deficiencies.
The works council is entitled to make suggestions for improving working conditions, training, and employee-friendly workplace design and, if necessary, to conclude corresponding works agreements.
What has the works council achieved for all colleagues over the past 5 years?
- A fair adjustment of the SVB allowance. Because this represents the employer's appreciation of those colleagues who master their tasks with dedication and commitment. We did not settle for the argument that “this is a voluntary benefit.” We succeeded in increasing the allowance to €40.
- We succeeded in highlighting the lack of barrier-free access to administrative departments (e.g., human resources) and have thus achieved the installation of an elevator in the foreseeable future. This will enable colleagues with disabilities/ailments or parents with small children to take care of their business.
- And in many personal conversations, we provided information about service operations/everyday work with helpful advice.
All company agreements can be found on the works council's website..
