One of this year's master's projects deals with the transformation of urban parking spaces using the example of the Krems region. Over the last 10 years, Paris has become a model city in terms of greening and unsealing, which is why the students there were able to learn a lot about their project in Austria.
Day 1 of the excursion was dedicated to neighborhood development and the mobility transition: Martin Luther King Park and Clichy-Batignolles and a multi-modal hub in Rueil-Malmaison were explored. The students were also able to learn about the transformation of public space and the mobility transition at L'Institut Paris, opens an external URL in a new window.
Day 2 focused on nature in the city, PV parking lots and building culture: the Jardin des Joyeux, the Disneyland parking lot covered with photovoltaic systems and Espaces d'Abraxas were visited.
Day 3 took the students to the Jardin Anna Marly, where they were able to get to grips with renaturation and unsealing.
Following this inspiring excursion, the students will incorporate their findings into their proposals for the Krems project region. The final presentation will take place on site in Krems in mid-June.
The course takes place in cooperation with the Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning research unit, opens an external URL in a new window and the Transportation Systems Planning research unit (MOVE).
