Rudolf Scheuvens

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning

Rudolf Scheuvens studied spatial planning at the Technical University of Dortmund. In 1994 he co-founded "scheuvens + wachten" in Dortmund with Kunibert Wachten and in 2014 "RAUMPOSITION" in Vienna with Daniela Allmeier and René Ziegler, both practices being primarily concerned with questions of urban planning and design, urban and regional development and the supervision and moderation of complex planning and development processes.

From 2001 to 2007 Rudolf Scheuvens was Professor of Urban Design and Architectural History at the University of Applied Sciences in Hannover, then Professor of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Oldenburg. In 2007 he was appointed as a member of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning (DASL).

Since 2008 he has been Professor of Local Planning and Urban Development at TU Wien, and in 2013 he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning. It was in this capacity that he founded the future.lab, a platform for inter- and transdisciplinary teaching and research, in 2013. He is currently acting as an expert consultant in the field of "New Social Housing" for the international building exhibition IBA_Vienna 2022.
