ABSAGE: Dejice Jacob: AnyScale Apps for Scalable Computation - A novel paradigm for adaptive scalable computation

Aufgrund Erkrankung des Vortragenden wird das Kolloquium auf einen Termin voraussichtlich zwischen dem 18. und 21.07.2016 verschoben.

In the AnyScale project, we are creating a runtime system that targets heterogeneous and distributed compute infrastructure. An AnyScale application is developed at a sufficiently abstract level and then the general application is specialised (either at install time or execution time) to utilise appropriate and available compute resources. The key challenges of the AnyScale project are to

  • devise means of expressing or generating Task Variants
  • select and schedule these Task Variants in the most appropriate
  • manner subject to static or dynamic system constraints, and
  • identify appropriate case studies for this execution scenario.

In this talk, we present an overview of the AnyScale project. We describe two novel deployments involving robots and raspberry pis.
