Distinguished Speaker Series: Patent protection for digital solutions

Seminar

We cordially invite you to participate in the webinar "Patent protection for digital solutions", co-organized by the TU Wien Innovation Incubation Center and the TU Wien Service Group for Patent and License Management. In this webinar, you will find out more about how to patent typical software innovations and how to design digital use cases in order to make them patentable.

About this event

In the last decade the digital transformation changed the global economy so profoundly that the most valuable companies are not fossil fuel companies anymore, but digital companies such as Apple, Google or Amazon. But it also offers broad opportunities for small companies and startups embracing the chances of the digital transformation. This is also reflected in the number of patent applications for technologies of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) that grew rapidly in the last decades. The EPO identified a 1400% growth of international patent families since 2000.

Especially technology transfer from universities and researchers with entrepreneurial spirit have today the chance to bring digital and data-driven research to the market and make a difference in society. But to make the economic success sustainable, it is important to learn how to patent typical digital business objects like digital use cases, user and customer journeys or apps. In this webinar you can learn with best practice examples from the European industry how to design digital use cases to make them patentable.
