Career Coaching for Postdocs in Englisch 2025-26
The Career Coaching Program with Ute Riedler helped me to clearly identify my strengths and potential for development and to plan my next career steps in a targeted manner. Her empathetic, structured and trusting approach created a safe space for reflection and further development. The expanded network at TU Wien and the exchange of ideas about common challenges in the academic environment were also particularly valuable.

The TU-Postdoc-Group Coaching aims to accompany you productively and reflectively during your habilitation period or profiling phase after your dissertation. Regular coaching meetings offer the opportunity to discuss current problems and inquiries, to develop solution strategies and to open up options for action. The reflection process led by the trainer supports you in your personal problem-solving competence as well as in the development and utilization of the peer group's consulting competence. The coaching process serves to proactively and solution-oriented question thought patterns and to identify personal strengths and fields of development. Individual habits are treated in the same way as institutional rules and obstacles that make the path through an academic career difficult. The trainer's input in topics such as career planning, application and negotiation strategies and much more complements the coaching. In addition, topic-related seminars can be offered at your request.
Key facts about the program:
- 16.03.26: Kick-Off Workshop (8 hours)
- 7 monthly Group Coaching Sessions (3 hours)
- 1:1 individual coaching on demand
- 04.03.27: Closing Workshop (8 hours)
- Participants are expected to attend at least 75% of all appointments.
Input:
- Regular input from the trainer on topics such as career planning within academia, application for professorships and negotiation strategies
- Topic-related seminars and 1:1 coaching can be offered on request
