TU-Campaign: Be excellent to each other
The WWTF-funded TU campaign “Be excellent to each other” raises awareness of sexism and sexual harassment in the university context. The campaign comprises a series of visuals that are distributed in the form of postcards, posters, and screens at TU Wien. In addition, the website on the topic of “Sexism & Sexual Harassment” has been expanded, and there are collaborations with the courses Fokus Raumplanung – Intersektionale Raumaneignung, opens an external URL in a new window and Denkweisen der Informatik, opens an external URL in a new window. In addition, the Gender Equality Office is hosting several events as part of the campaign.

About the speaker: Dr Bontu Lucie Guschke, opens an external URL in a new window is an anti-discrimination and diversity speaker, facilitator and consultant. She takes an intersectional feminist approach to her work, focusing on anti-racism, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Content description:
This talk will focus on intersectional approaches to sexism and sexual harassment within higher education. Bontu Guschke will examine how sexism and racism interact. She will demonstrate how discrimination and harassment can be recognised and effectively addressed at various levels, including in equality work, among staff and among students. From an organisational perspective, the lecture will highlight structures, dynamics and possible courses of action.
The lecture will be moderated by Josephine Apraku, opens an external URL in a new window, an African studies scholar, author and trainer.
This online talk is organised by the AG Geschlechterbasierte Gewalt of the inter-university Genderplattform, opens an external URL in a new window network.
During the lecture, we ask that you approach the topic with sensitivity, show consideration towards the contributors and participants, and be mindful of your own boundaries and those of others. Matthäa Ritter-Wurnig will be available as an awareness contact person during the event and until 2:00 p.m. She is a colleague at the Coordination Office for Equality, Diversity and Disability at BOKU University. Concert „Stimmen der Frauen“

Where: Festsaal at TU Wien
In this concert, soprano Elvire de Paiva e Pona and pianist Joana Rolo will perform pieces written exclusively by female composers. Their programme showcases the diversity and originality of female creativity, opening up new perspectives on musical forms of expression that go beyond the established canon. By doing so, they are making a valuable contribution to raising the profile of women in music, giving their artistic legacy the stage it deserves.
Admission to this event is free. No registration is required.
