FWF's new data management plan template, opens an external URL in a new window, which was introduced at the beginning of this year, consists of two parts: a guide with questions and instructions and the actual template to fill in. Compared to the previous version, the new template contains even more examples and detailed help.

In terms of content, the FWF's new document largely follows the recommendations of Science Europe, opens an external URL in a new window. The questions and instructions in the guide are very similar, only the order of topics slightly differs from the SE template. In addition, the FWF keeps the familiar tabular format.

The supplementary, newly introduced evaluation matrix, opens an external URL in a new window corresponds to the Science Europe Evaluation Rubric and is primarily intended as an aid for RDM support staff and DMP evaluators. Also new is the advice in the RDM information text to "consult the research data management support of the researcher’s own research institute when drafting the DMP".
