The Harmonisation Course Mathematics is offered before or at the beginning of the first semester to facilitate the transition to university studies. The course reviews fundamental topics from school mathematics and focuses on bringing students' mathematical knowledge up to the same level.

The aim of the course is to strengthen arithmetic skills, in particular so that mathematical concepts in application-oriented courses such as electrical engineering, physics, mechanics, etc.

The TU Wien Harmonisation Course Mathematics is aimed at first-year students who want to fill any gaps or uncertainties in their mathematical knowledge.

The course focuses on topics that are used intensively in technical and scientific subjects as well as in mathematics courses at the beginning of the degree program. These include areas of elementary functions, analytical methods of differentiation and integration, vector calculus, and complex numbers.

The Harmonisation Course Mathematics is organized by the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing in cooperation with the Vice Rectorate for Studies and Teaching.
